Erie Neighborhood House

COVID-19 Response

*Updated May 26*

Dear Erie House Community,

Erie House continues to prioritize the health and safety of our staff and participants. With this priority in mind, we're actively working to develop a plan to safely reopen for in-person programming, and wanted to share an update regarding our timing.
While we don’t have an exact reopening date at this time, based on the preliminary guidance we’ve received from the state and city, Erie House will likely reopen in early July during Phase 4 of Chicago's plan.
This information is developing quickly, and we'll continue to provide additional details as soon as they are available.
We understand the frustration many feel due to ongoing uncertainty, but it is of the utmost importance for us to ensure our reopening is safe for all of our staff, our participants, and our community as a whole.
Our families count on us, especially in times like these, and we know our closing impacts an already vulnerable population. That's why we're working to provide all our participants with access to resources and relief.
We've launched our Community Relief Fund to help directly support our participants and help cover critical, immediate needs like rent, utilities, groceries, and more. If you'd like to learn more and give, please visit 100% of donations to this fund will go directly to our participants and clients.
And in order to ease the burden on our staff and their families, we are continuing to compensate our team as usual and no staff will be required to use paid time off or sick time during our closure.
The health and well-being of our community is our utmost priority. We will continue to make decisions about our operations and activities with safety in mind and provide updates as they become available.
