Today, successful entrepreneurs through Erie’s Family Child Care Homes Network, the Cruz couple takes care of eight children from six months to five years old in their Chicago home. Extreme Makeover: Erie House

For the first time since 1936, Erie House’s lobby at 1347 West Erie Street has been completely renovated. A longtime resident of our West Town community, Benitez's commitment to this neighborhood is evident in his work to strengthen the partnership between Erie and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (CSOPP), where he is currently an associate professor and has worked since 1987. Youth Gain Real-World Experience

Ten youth from Erie’s Youth Options Unlimited program interned this summer at none other than Erie House. Through a grant from After School Matters, these high school students participated in “Erie Cares”, a summer internship program for high school students interested in working with children. The program placed Erie teens at Erie’s nationally accredited after school program, where they worked with and planned activities for children ages five through 12 years old. Read »
