Holidays with Heart Spreads Plenty of Cheer to Local Families
December 10, 2014 | Chicago, IL
Erie Neighborhood House’s Holidays with Heart tradition continued in 2014, providing over 500 wrapped presents to families in the community. The annual event is made possible through the generosity of numerous funding partners and corporate groups, and it draws over 100 volunteers each year.
In addition to the much-anticipated gift pick-up, the 2014 Holidays with Heart bazaar featured a breakfast buffet, live holiday carols sung by the Chicago Chamber Choir, facepainting, cookie decorating and a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus.
“It’s a great opportunity for members of the Erie House community to give back and spread some holiday cheer,” said Executive Director Celena Roldán-Moreno, who pitched in at the facepainting table and connected with the many volunteers working on Saturday morning.
Numerous volunteer groups and individuals rolled up their sleeves alongside staff, board members and friends of Erie to execute a successful event.
