June 6, 2016 | Chicago, IL
The Erie Associate Board will host its 9th Annual Goose Island Fundraiser to benefit Erie Neighborhood House at the dazzling new Goose Island Taproom on Saturday, June 25.
WHAT: 9th Annual Goose Island Fundraiser
WHEN: 6:30–10:30 pm on Saturday, June 25
WHO: Hosted by the Erie Associate Board, the fundraising event will benefit general operations at Erie Neighborhood House, a nonprofit organization serving Chicago’s immigrant population. Tickets cost $60 online through June 24 or $65 at the door.
WHERE: Goose Island Taproom, 1800 W Fulton St, Chicago IL 60612
Now in its ninth year, the event serves to raise money and awareness for programs and services at Erie Neighborhood House, a historic settlement house agency that educates and empowers more than 5,000 low-income, primarily Latino individuals each year.
The 9th Annual Erie Associate Board-sponsored event returns to Goose Island’s Fulton Street location.
Admission includes unlimited Goose Island draft pours, food tickets and entertainment. This year the event will highlight food truck offerings from Los Candiles, a family-owned Mexican restaurant located just a few blocks from Erie House’s site in Little Village.
“This is one of our favorite events all year,” says Erie House executive director Kirstin Chernawsky, acknowledging the role the Erie Associate Board plays in planning and executing the event. “It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the amazing work our staff and participants do on a daily basis, and we’re grateful for the work our Erie Associate Board puts into making it happen.”
The Erie Associate Board is comprised of rising leaders in Chicago’s business community, many of whom serve as volunteer mentors in the TEAM program and in various other capacities at Erie House. They are tasked with fundraising as well as acting as ambassadors on behalf of the nonprofit organization. The Goose Island Fundraiser is its largest event, but the board also sponsors an annual tequila tasting and supports other initiatives throughout the year.
The fundraiser was formerly held at the Goose Island production facility on Fulton St before moving to the brewery’s East Garfield Park barrel warehouse in 2014. Due to summer construction at the barrel warehouse, the event will temporarily return to Fulton St and be held in the taproom at 1800 W Fulton St.
The Goose Island Taproom opened to the public last spring, and this year’s fundraiser will offer guests a behind the scenes tour of the brewery’s production and bottling facility on Chicago’s Near West Side.
In addition to Goose Island, the event is sponsored by MB Financial and Beverly Bank & Trust Company, a Wintrust community bank. To purchase tickets or to become an event sponsor, please visit www.eriehouse.org/gooseisland.
