Healthcare

Blazing pathways in a high demand industry.

Erie’s Health Care Bridge class targets the Medical Assistant profession. However, students may choose other careers in the Allied Health Care field. This is an intensive 20 weeks program in which participants improve their reading, writing and math skills through contextualized health care training that prepares them to pass placement exams for advanced training programs. Our Bridge program includes instruction on CPR, introduction to Electronic Health Records (EHR), Medical Terminology, and Biology 120, which transfer credit hours to one of our partner advanced training institution. In addition, students learn studying and testing techniques, professional development, and job readiness skills.

Additional practical skills development, participants are encouraged to conduct training at the Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center (HPVEC) of Wilbur Wright College.
