Healthcare Bridge

Blazing pathways in a high-demand industry

The Erie House Healthcare Bridge class targets participants interested in becoming a Medical Assistant, but  students may choose other careers in the Allied Healthcare field.

This intensive 16-week program allows participants to improve their reading, writing and math skills through contextualized healthcare training that prepares them to pass placement exams for advanced training programs. Our Healthcare Bridge program includes instruction on CPR, introduction to Electronic Health Records (EHR), Medical Terminology, and Biology 120; students are then able to transfer credit hours to one of our partner advanced training institutions.

Students are also exposed to studying and testing techniques, job readiness skills and professional development opportunities.

For additional practical skills development, participants are encouraged to conduct training at the Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center (HPVEC) of Wilbur Wright College.

 In partnership with:

The Workforce Development Program at Erie Neighborhood House prepares students for specialized training, continuing education and career advancement. The program is not, however, accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
