Workforce Development

Healthcare Bridge

Demand for skilled professionals in the field of healthcare is high, and a job as a Medical Assisant can be extremely rewarding.

Our 15-week Healthcare Bridge program will strengthen your reading, writing and math skills through a healthcare lens, prepping you for placement exams required to enroll in a Medical Assistant professional program (you may also choose to pursue advanced training in other allied healthcare programs as well).

Get Started

The program includes the following components:

  • CPR/First Aid Instruction
  • Introduction to Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Medical Terminology
  • Biology 120

Upon completing our program, you may then be able to transfer credit hours to one of our partner advanced training institutions (acceptability of transfer credit is up to the receiving institution; admission/enrollment is also at the discretion of the institution, according to their eligibility/suitability criteria).

Continuing Your Education

We want to help you lay a strong foundation for your career and hope that you will continue building on that foundation as you move closer and closer to reaching your potential.

For additional practical skills development, we encourage you to participate in training at the Humboldt Park Vocational Education Center (HPVEC) of Wilbur Wright College.

Our Workforce Development department also provides assistance with the college or post-secondary education application process, career counseling and access to valuable professional development opportunities.
