New Americans Initiative (NAI) Awards
The New Americans Initiative (NAI) is a joint collaboration between the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS), and 50 community organizations across Illinois.
Since 2005, the NAI has assisted low-income immigrant families with citizenship information & education, interview preparation, application processing, and citizenship scholarships for eligible Illinois residents.
North Collaborative wins ICIRR’s 2024 New Americans Initiative (NAI) Award
Erie Neighborhood House, Palenque LSNA, and AFIRE Chicago proudly accepted an award at ICIRR’s 2024 Annual Celebration. The NAI award recognizes the amazing work being done by each organization. For over 153 years, our dedicated staff has worked tirelessly to meet the needs of immigrant communities.
Megan Davis, the Director of Legal Services, leads her team with unwavering commitment, ensuring that we meet individuals and families wherever they are in their journey toward citizenship. Our Legal Services team provides essential support and guidance through the legal process. Working with our Community Partners, we gladly accepted the New Americans Initiative (NAI) 2024 Award. Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and ICIRR for helping make an impact. This collaboration is transforming the lives of those who walk through our doors. Working alongside our participants, we create powerful communities.
